What should I say when I call?

Defend Medicaid for Michiganders

I'm asking you to oppose cuts to Medicaid. Slashing $880 billion from the program nationally would take healthcare away from more than 15 million people, including hundreds of thousands of Michiganders. Medicaid helps children, seniors, veterans, and people with disabilities get the care they need most. We should be expanding access to healthcare, not taking it away.

Say 'No' to Work Requirements

I strongly oppose adding work requirements to Medicaid. These policies don't make sense and will only make it harder for sick and struggling people to get the care they need to stay healthy. Punishing people who are already facing challenges—like cancer, chronic illness, or unstable jobs—will make things worse, not better. Healthcare should help people get back on their feet, not knock them down.

Protect Seniors and Their Caregivers

Cutting Medicaid would hurt older Americans who need long-term care in their own homes or in nursing facilities. Many seniors depend on Medicaid to cover services Medicare doesn’t. If you cut it, families will be left to carry unbearable costs on their own. They have paid into the system their whole lives and have earned our support. We need to protect the dignity and care of our elders.

Preserve Healthcare for Children

One in three kids depends on Medicaid for health services—from checkups to managing serious conditions like asthma or developmental delays. If these cuts happen, millions of children could lose access to vital care that helps them grow, learn, and thrive. Kids shouldn't have to suffer because of political decisions. Please protect Medicaid for our youngest and most vulnerable.

Help Struggling Families

Healthcare costs are out of control and families need relief. Instead of working to lower costs, Congress is proposing cuts to Medicaid that will make healthcare more expensive for all of us and put our most vulnerable at greater risk.
