Let’s Talk Interviews and Focus Groups

An event every 2 days that begins at 10:30 am, repeating until September 16, 2022
Planning and conducting qualitative research can be intimidating. The interviewer has to meet real people face-to-face and figure out how to elicit answers of interest. We have to do so without being heavy-handed and without signaling disinterest in the whole person or their whole story. We will discuss how to adopt a genuinely empathetic posture and how to signal interest while keeping the conversation on track. We will offer a hands-on demonstration experience and showcase some ways to bridge qualitative and quantitative work through structured data tables in simple tools like Excel or Google Sheets.
Please plan to attend all three days. This is an interactive workshop series with individualized support available during and after each session. It will not be recorded.
