Kent County Food Policy Council
The Kent County Food Policy Council was formed in 2020 to inform local policy and decision makers on the current and future issues that will impact local food production, consumption, and access.
We bring together citizens, organizations, agencies, and businesses to strengthen and grow the local food system.
We envision a thriving economy, equity and sustainability for Kent County residents through a food system rooted in local communities and centered on good food – food that is accessible, fair, healthy, diverse and sustainable.
Mission: Our mission is to advocate for and promote a Good Food system in Kent County.
Vision: For everyone in Kent County to enjoy a thriving Good Food system.
Values: Equity, Sustainability, & Thriving Economies (Good Food Charter)
The Kent County Food Policy Council will invite 16 members to participate, two of each from Agriculture, Business, Education, Government, Health, and Non-profit sectors, three ad hoc/at large (filtered for geographic location).
Our statement on racism in the food system can be found here.
